The Cruise Is To Blame

Kitchen

It all started at Chick Fil A while discussing an upcoming cruise.

Cathy is my travel agent who worked hard planning a cruise for my family to take during Spring Break 2020. When it comes to things I know nothing about I choose to give these things over to the experts- i.e. Cathy.

We met at Chick fil a to pick and choose the cruise best for my family. When we were all done, Cathy mentioned wanting to do some work on her home and wondered if I would be interested in coming to look at it. Of course I was game....because I may not know travel but I know homes :-)

Cathy, like several of my clients love their home and the location but not necessarily how it functions. Their kitchen and master closet were just a few of their issues. Her husband and her are big time cooks and Cathy has a shoe problem.

These were just a few areas we focused on. We started making out our needs and wants checklist and came up with an estimate within budget.

I just love how it turned out!

Kitchen Before: The space just didn't work for them. Very little storage, prep space for meals and the overall arrangement just didn't work for their family.

Kitchen After: We went with a dark wood shaker style cabinet, granite countertops, a neutral backsplash and LVT floors. We created a pass thru window into the family room for extra prep space and seating. The lighting was also updated for better function.

Bathroom before: Bless this bath. The biggest issue with this bathroom was the unique placement of the master shower. If you look in the picture you can see it to the right where the blue mat is.

What makes it even more unique is that the shower actually sits inside the master closet and takes up the majority of the closet space. We said out with the tiny little shower so we could increase the master closet space. We also turned the tub area into a standing large shower.

Master Bathroom After: After framing up the old shower we installed a wonderful master shower with grey tiles on the wall, a moroccan style floor tile and chrome fixtures. The cabinets and countertops match the kitchen to give the whole house a cohesive look.

Before without the pass through

And this is probably my favorite part of the transformation. When you walk into the home you are now greeted with a bright open concept. Opening up the wall increased the natural light that comes through the windows in the home. This opening frames out the new kitchen perfectly.

Kitchen Pass Through

If you are wondering how the cruise was....we didn't get to go thanks to Covid 19.

Boo.
